The Kees Smit Tuinmeubelen family business has chosen Centric’s Locus WMS solution to manage the distribution centre they are building at Almelo’s XL Business Park. With implementation starting in November 2020, Locus WMS will go live in 2021 as soon as the new distribution centre is finished.
Locus WMS will enable Kees Smit Tuinmeubelen, which has Europe’s largest range of garden furniture, to further optimise its logistics process
as it increases both the quality of processes and productivity.
Marcel Vlogtman, Supply Chain Improvement and Support Manager at Kees Smit Tuinmeubelen: ‘We expect Locus WMS to enable us to manage our processes more effectively and efficiently, so that we can keep facilitating further growth. After thorough analysis of our situation, we looked at the systems available in the market today, ultimately choosing Locus WMS because it simply offers us the best options.
Efficiency
Locus WMS offers extensive applications for all logistics processes in the warehouse. The application manages the warehouse and ensures efficient work allocation, whereby each individual worker knows exactly what is expected of him or her at any given time. In allocating tasks, Locus WMS takes into account the type of tasks that each individual worker is allowed to perform, which vehicle is used, and where the worker in question is at that specific time.
Balance in operations
The system ensures a balanced spread of operations over the warehouse by assigning the right logistics task to the right worker at the right time. As a result, the logistics organisation maintains an overall view and the structure, creating a serene work environment for all in a very busy warehouse.
