What is EDI?
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is the structured sharing of electronic documents (also referred to as “messages”) – like your POs, packing slips, confirmations, and invoices – with your trading partners using an EDI standard. Information from the back office is automatically converted into EDI messages, where the components are formatted according to the rules of an EDI standard. This keeps manual data entry and errors to a minimum. EDI also enables you to improve collaboration with your trading partners.
