Centric AutoMotive developed a high-power, reliable inverter system that is optimized for traction applications. This inverter is in particular intended for electric vehicles of 3,5 ton and above.
The inverter system consists of a PowerStage and a separate Motor Control Unit. The PowerStage can deliver 200 kW continuous power and is built upon IGBT technology. The Motor Control Unit has been optimized for traction applications, for use in vehicles. This optimization leads to a very high efficiency, which means a higher driving range or less batteries.
The modular design of the inverter provides a lot of flexibility. The PowerStage may be mounted on a different location as the Motor Control Unit. Next to that, the PowerStage can be customized, for example for different power ranges, without changing the Motor Control Unit. The Motor Control Unit offers flexibility in motor choice: asynchronous or permanent magnet synchronous.
Next to the inverter system, we have developed the Automotive Control Module. This module facilitates easy integration of the Motor Control Unit with all other in-vehicle electronics. It can be ordered as an option to the inverter system, but also as a separate product.
